The Village at Pilot Mill is an infill neighborhood of single family homes located in Downtown Raleigh. Located just north of Peace Street and behind William Peace University, the community has been a keystone project over the past years in bringing residents back Downtown. We are part of the Mordecai community and represented by the Mordecai Citizens Advisory Council (CAC).
Built on the site of the original mill houses for the Historic Pilot Mill building, the neighborhood was designed with small lots, alley ways, and sidewalks to encourage a strong community.
The neighborhood has 103 homes ranging in size from about 1600 to 3000 plus square feet - all have two car garages and community maintained mowing and irrigation system for a lower maintenance lifestyle.
There is an active Community Watch Committee in the Village at Pilot Mill. Please click here to view the current brochure. If you would like more information or to volunteer for this committee please click here to contact a committee member.

Welcome New Neighbors
There is a flyer available that will help to welcome new neighbors to our community. The purpose of this flyer is to give existing residents of Pilot Mill a tool to welcome new residents to the neighborhood. The idea is that if you notice a new neighbor moving in, you would print this flyer and take it to them to introduce yourself and our community. It will give them some basic information to participate in our communication channels, etc. Click on the "Welcome" image to access the flyer.
The Village at Pilot Mill is part of the Mordecai Community and is represented by the Mordecai Citizens Advisory Council. (MCAC). The Mordecai Citizens Advisory Council provides a means for citizens and neighborhoods to participate in the city’s decision-making process - a forum where citizens can share important announcements, voice their concerns to the city, weigh in on zoning decision affecting their community, and learn about interesting community services and programs.
The MCAC has invested in and maintains several important communications tools that will be of interest to you. Click here above to learn more about the MCAC and to participate in the various communications channels.
MCAC meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, at the Mordecai Historic Park Visitor's Center at 1101 Wake Forest Road. Your attendance at the meetings and participation in community events is encouraged.
